To get the greatest enjoyment from this weekend book to get to Wesley College, Paerata (between Drury and Pukekohe) before about 5pm on Thursday 4 October. Enjoy dinner and meet the demonstrators. Have your first look at the Trade Hall. Watch the demonstrations all day Friday, all day Saturday and all of Sunday morning. Friday evening some woodturner entertainment. Saturday evening more woodturning pleasure.

Every one of these demonstrators will have new information for every level of woodturning – beginner or experienced, there are things to be learned – there will be 60 demonstrations to choose from. Each demonstration room will have a lathe, 40 chairs, a video camera and screen. You will need to read the programme and plan your time carefully because some rooms will be full. We plan to have the programme for you by August.
When you arrive and register, Trade Stands from the best woodturning suppliers around the country will be there. You can see what is new and take home tools you will see demonstrated by the best. Wood for sale. Tea and coffee available.
You are again invited to bring three pieces of your work to put in the Instant Gallery. We will photograph every piece there and have DVDs of the pictures for sale, later in the weekend. The demonstrators will have their own gallery. The World of Woodturners (WOW) swap will have a separate table. The Instant Gallery is a competition and there will be another competition (subject to be decided). There will be another table for auction items as we will again be running an auction to benefit St John, particularly St John Youth who will be helping throughout the symposium. You may gift an item to this auction.
We plan to have registration forms available in February. Prices are set already: $320 to attend the full symposium (less a $30 discount for NAW members) plus $220 to live in. Or $190 to attend either Friday or Saturday and $95 for the Sunday morning. If you want a gift voucher as a Christmas or birthday gift, just email events@sawg.org.nz.
We will be asking you to nominate who you would like to share a room with (if you have no preference, you get others from the ballot). After arrival at Wesley you will be shown to your room. All bedding is provided – you just bring a towel and your toilet gear.
